Noisy ARB Poly Bushes

Has anyone ever had any trouble with noisy poly bushes in the ARB?

Before I bought the car, the lad who sold it to be put in poly bushes in the ARB. Since day one there has been a squeeky scruchy noise over ramps.

I've replaced both lower wishbones, both drop links and both upper arms (one by me, one by previous seller).

Still squeeky. Its also weather dependant! Hot dry days its near silent, colder, or wet days its noisy.

At this point, I think its the poly bushes and the bar moving when it hits a ramp. Is it a big job to loosen then and stick in some grease with feeler gauge or something?

The car is now in fine fettle apart from this noise and it lets a great car down a bit.

Noise and polly bushes go hand in hand. There is a specific grease for them, try powerflex, they will be able to supply it.

The noise you describe sounds more like upper arms.
Did you grease pack the upper arm before fitting, did the previous mechanic grease the other one?

It's an easy enough job to disconnect the upper arm ball joint and move it up and down to check...........

Yep they ruin the feel of the car etc. I wouldn't rate them to be honest. Gerry Poly bushed the upper arms in my car and they didn't make any difference when I swapped them to standard ones didn't notice anything really. Bring it to Gerry honestly he will know.

I have poly bushes on arb and rear tie track rod. All others are standard. To tets ARB drive other a curb (low obviously), it will cause a knocking sound, not a squeak and you will feel it under your feet. Sounds to me like upper arms, spray some white lithium grease on the bushes, might help.

Its at my feet and squeeking, they wont knock because they arent actually gone, just not lubed. Upper ones are all new so it aint them.

Going to try to loosen the ARB bolts to try get some grease into gap between arb and bush.

Use a small syringe to squirt the grease into the bushes with a bit of pressure
Use a vegetable type grease like renolit (usually red),or motorbike fork grease so it wont corrode the bushes.
