It would probably fail on emissions alright. Not sure how much it would cost to put right but I'm sure there are loads of 156's being broken and you could get the whole exhaust from them. Best of luck whatever you decide

Luca you can save yourself €100 by doing it yourself, its not hard, its actually straight forward once you can get good height off the ground and good tools.

I got mine through the emissions on the NCT (just about) without the cat. The NCT fella said it took him 3 times but it just scraped a pass. All i did was fire a load of Diptine into the tank and drive the ****e out of it on the way to the NCT test.

Failed on a few other things though.

Failed the slip test, need a new bolt for the upper wishbone which i pick up 2mrw. Hopefully that sorts that.
A bit of rust under the door sill that should be handy enough to sort.
And the airbag light is on which i need to arrange to get sorted.

Other than that she was grand. Have it booked to go back in on Saturday afternoon, hopefully i can get it passed as then ill get a 2 year NCT.

That Diptine stuff is fantastic, i recommend everyone that fails on emissions to give it a go, only costs ten quid.
