Is it really wrong that i have a bad itch for a GTV?

I have just got it into my head that i really really want one. I know i have only just got the 156 but i have fallen in love with the bloody things.

Why do i do it to myself?

hopefully it passes.

Yeah rob i would love to man. But i would literally have beads of sweat running down my face as i looked at the fuel gauge. The 156 is bad enough.

I couldn't drive one of those Cathal. I really don't like the spiders. I have been trying to say it to the missus.

"Would you like one of these? They are a lovely little sports car. Sure you should buy one for your next car."

She says she doesn't like them but i will get her round.

You and me both m8, nothing wrong with wanting a GTV - they are really stunning imo.
I've been following this one and sitting on my hands.

Get a twinny. Good MPG and still got some fair grunt.

Not on the scale of the V6 but it won't eat your bank account.

and it will still make you smile

you're right...... I admit..... I have a follicle insecurity thing going on..... It all started when I was 7... played with my dads electric shaver.... long story... short hair...

Tbh I just don't have the confidence to drive a convertable.... I test drove a few MX5s over the years and loved the experience. Just wonder what they at like to live with in Irish winters... IMO an Alfa spider (spyder) would be a brilliant weekend sunny play thing....

The Petrol is not really the problem over here (well almost!) the bloody exensive part over here is the Road TAX .... 973 (EURO) for a 2.5 and 1300 (Euro) for a 3 litre .. thats our biggest problem

Yeah... But at least all the tax gets spent on the roads. Hence our amazing road surfaces.

Did you see it in the flesh? It looks great in the pics, and what looks like twin Ragazzons sticking out the back.

It's with an Belgard car auctions now.... any idea how they treat cars in auction places? are they just stored and parked or I wonder is some loon ragging it to pieces in and out of work?

I'm really liking this car, but even at a chunk less than the asking, its still adding up wrong by the time it's taxed , serviced and belted

Have you gone to look at this one? looks like it's sitting very low on the rear passenger side compared to the driver side. I just powerflexed mine last weekend and the ride height has risen about 2 inches !

@Damien_C - it also solved the rear camber

No i didn;t go to look at it i just meant i had seen it online. It's been there for an age. I'd say it's hard to sell 3.0 v6 car now.

Got to be almost impossible, I have mine but i'm in it for the long haul, don't think it would sell even if I tried.

Tax isn't too bad if you don't need it all year around. I'm happy to tax mine for 3 months during the summer but the annual NCT coming up in June will be a nuisance.

I'm thinking of having a look at it on Wednesday so I'll give some feedback.
However my view on its value is going to be different than the seller's.
When you add road tax and a service and belts it's hard to imagine anyone buying it for more than 2K, if even that much ........ people with that money to spend on a car aren't going to buy an 11 year old Alfa.
The days of selling V6s in this country are over
