when you think the worst is over...
So I wanted to get rid of some of the stuff, put it in the boot, pressed the button on the keyfob, the usual whizz, but no open hatch. Pressed the button on the panel, whizz - hatch still closed.
Crawled through the car into the boot, located the emergency exit, opened the hatch.
Keyfob press, sound whizz - no action.
So I "locked" the lock in position with a screwdriver shaft, keyfob, sound, stayed locked. Since the "lock" unit is a riveted piece of metal, all IO could do was drown it in WD40 - still no positive result. Keyfob/panel button press, whizz - nothing.
It's riveted, so there are no serviceable parts inside, are there?
Any idea how much that will set me back?
... and, no, it's an 02 - no swiveling back badge there ...
