Just an FYI for you lads (and lassies?)
I drove 3 Alfasuds last night (not all at the same time).
Best therapy you'll ever get....

Well done, what a chance to compare three of them. Even back in the day not many people got to drive 3 of them

All 3 very different too.
Both mine have the 1.5 95bhp engines but the TI has shorter gearing, nicer clutch and throttle.
Both feel nice and solid on the road but the Gold Cloverleaf has the Green Cloverleaf outlet manifold (fatter) and the other two sections are stainless steel so it soounds amazing and feels torquier too....
The third is Sean's pride and joy Green Cloverleaf with 1.7 8v 33 engine.
Best gearbox I've ever driven in a Sud, perfectly tight, no crunching.
Engine lovely and torquey, he has stainles steel exhaust too but sounds bassier...

Enough meanderings for tonight-might be a nice surprise on the 23rd!

Nature's intercooler Cathal huh?

The 1.7 must be a rocket
I drove a 1.7 33 years ago and it was the scariest thing ever - lots of speed, cornering was interesting, and not much brakes to talk about.
Is the Sud similar?
btw was the 1.7 a blue one?

I love the sound a car makes as it cools after a hard run.

Nice and torquey, not scary fast and Sean has replaced front and rear brake calipers.
Lovely to drive.
The 33s went to outboard discs which have affected handling a little - Suds are inboard..
The 1.7 is read and was at Mondello at Classic Car Live last June.
It's the one some of the lads mixed my red one up for....

Slightly already only have about 1500 miles on em I warp all the discs I get. As my dads best friend says, brake pads are cheap, bodywork isn't so I'll hammer the brakes if needs be and they need a good bit of heat in them to work really.

I use the engine braking too but the handling of the 156 really is ten times better than me. I couldn't get it to move today lol only once and I was being a complete donkey provoking it lol.
