Heading to Ti Autos

Hello,

I read a lot of good things about Gerry in Ti Autos on here so I'm hoping to get my car to him to run a diagnostic read of the ECU.

Does anyone know what kind of hours he works? Unfortunately I'm caught with work all this week and I was hoping to get car to him either early in the morning say 8 or 8:30am or after work at around 18:00. (I'm working down in the IFSC).

Thanks,
Michael

He's usually there around 8, not sure what time he shuts up shop though.

Anytime I go I drop it in at 8 and come back the next morning at 8 to get it. I get the Luas as he isnt too far from it. He finishes at different times depending on how busy he is but I think he tries to be out of there between 4 and 5 daily.

Generally he works between 8am and 6pm but calling ahead is best as he can get quite busy...

Can't recommend him highly enough...

Yeah I hear he is the man to bring your car to.

Hope nothing too serious with my car, the MCSF light comes on when I start it and then disappears after 5-10 seconds. It hadn't displayed in 2 weeks but came back this weekend so I thoughts id get it checked. Car is driving super though

Any problems will be logged so he will be able to tell what's up (if anything)...

Better safe than sorry...

Handy to get the software and hardware to read the codes for yourself. Puts your mind at rest or prepares you for the costs for repair!

Yeah I definitly will. I have actually downloaded the Fiat ECU scan (free version). But have yet to get a cable for it, and a laptop battery that actually works

It's something i'd like to learn about more anyways.

Dealers prices can be worse for connecting, some do it for free.

Brought my GT in to Gerry today, an absolute gent. He ran a diagnostic to try and determine what was causing the MCSF on startup. To his surprise and mine, no fault codes were stored in the ECU So I don't know whats going on. He is going to bring it to one of the Fiat guys tomorrow to see if there diagnostic equipment pulls up anything.

But the car is running great.

no honestly I was joking, Gerry is the man if he cant sort it , its not worth sorting . I'm saying this out of earshot of the 166 (just ibn case !!) . i had an engine management light on a few weeks ago got it cleared down and 2 weeks later it popped up again. No adverse effect on the car that I could notice , but it dissappeard again and have done about 1k miles since and no light on , the more sensors there are the easier it is for an error to appear .!!

Thanks for the reassurance Dermo!

Gerry was asking had the engine management light come on at any stage and I had explained that it hadn't so hopefully all okay. Its worth getting it looked at anyways. When theres something majorly wrong at least its still under warranty from the garage I got it off

Still can't stop looking at the car though

this is a regular thing mj with lights cooming on but usually there is nothing wrong, you could ask that question of anybody in here and they will tell you they have the same but car is grand, dodgy Italian electronics. In my 155 I have to hit the driverside speaker a whack for it to work (like the TVs) and I often get the injector system light coming on but she pulls like a freight train regardless

Could be the battery, we had it on the 147 changed the battery and it never showed it's face again.

Yeah your right man. To be honest, I didn't really get the impression something was wrong as everything appears to be working quite well. My old man gets a few warning lights coming on in his 159, especially in colder weather, but they never transpire to be anything major.

I got in early to Gerrys, it was gas to see all the alfas coming around the corner just before 8am!

Yeah could be that alright. Its nearly 4 years old now presuming it had not been changed previously.
