Look what I did

https://picasaweb.google.com/Mossie....eat=directlink

Well strictly speaking it wasn't my fault, the hand brake didn't engage properly (freezing temperatures), car rolled off my driveway across the road and into a concrete pillar, wasn't in gear as the engine was running. Anyway, my insurance company has written it off, they say it's not worth fixing. So if anyone knows of a bootlid and bumper in Grigio Metallico going anywhere I would be forever in their debt. Need a rear panel also, haven't taken off the bumper yet so don't know how bad that is.

Is there a difference in the bootlid between the original and facelift models, I suspect there is but I'm not sure ?

Cheers,
Mossie.

So sorry to see this Mossie, TI Model as well. Just from the lloks of it the boot lids are differnt because of the light cluster, but I may be wrong. Don't bother looking for a particular colour, the insurance should pay out enough to cover the cost of getting a second hand boot lid and then respraying I reckon. Nice house as well by the way!!

Cheers guys, I was fairly sickened when I found her stuck in the pillar, at first I thought maybe she just gently came to rest against the pillar, alas no. Insurance will pay out 3500, which should definitely cover the repairs. Quite a depreciation though in value in the past year, not as much as my house though !!

Cathal, I might take you up on your offer, if you think it is the same style bootlid and will fit ?

Cheers,
Mossie.

I think it works on the basis of less depreciation and less the scrap value ? maybe not but very few Ti's around in good condition glad youre going to fix her , should be plenty in 3500 to get her fixed and have a few bob left over?

If it fits you can have it. It has a "1.8" badge on it and I have all the mounting bolts.

EDIT. I'll post Picts here tomorrow of it for you.

They will fit, although if you fit a pre-facelift boot lid, you will have to get the inner lights as well, because they've a different design on the facelifts.

Boot Lid...

Hi Mossie... I took a few photos of the boot lid if you need it..,, ,picture are not great as taken on cameraphone...

The lid is not perfect as there is one nick on the boot lid.. tried to photo it... if you're getting a re-spray this should be fixable... Also, the Alfa badge is removed. Other that that it's dead stright etc..

I bought this lid in a scrapyard a year ago to put on my 156 after our garage attacked the back of our 156 with my wife inside..... but afterwards I decided not to replace the lid as the original one came out fine + I replaced the bumper & respray...

Anyway photos as follows:

Hey Guys, just got a call today to say that she is all fixed up, Thanks to Cherb for supplying the bootlid, much appreciated. I Haven't seen the work yet but my old man has and he says it's top class, so looking forward to seeing her all back in one piece again. While she was parked up I got myself a Fiat Coupe 20VT Plus in the UK (always wanted one), Only have parking space for one car though, what a dilemma !

Cheers,
Mossie.

What's the difference between a plus and a normal 20VT?

Ugh that's painful to look at. I sincerely hope that the repair cost is reasonable

Repair cost was reasonable, Euro650, bearing in mind the bootlid donated by Cherb

The Fiats not for sale just yet

The PLUS model comes with recaro interior, body kit, red brembos, strut brace and a few other aesthetic enhancements.

Here's a few pics from previous owner
