Thumbs Up The "I saw a car in Ireland broken down and it wasn't an Alfa" thread

Like I said in the sightings thread, in order to dispel the myth about Alfa's being unreliable please post in here every time you see a car broken down at the side of the road.
All you need is the brand not the model and I'll try and keep a running total of all brands (including Alfa's not that I'll need it )

Top marks to jaaniitis0 for the first one and it's a brand that I think will feature more often than not in this thread!

Saw an Opel broken down, being pulled on to a truck, on the shoulder of the highway on Tuesday.

Of course I also have to mention my VW Golf that broke down with a clutch failiure in a roundabout during rush-hour just before christmas. Had to get a few of the guys I was blocking help me push it out of the way.

Yes! as it indicates poor handling, or a reflection on the type of people who buy VW's!!

They are all welcome including Alfa's otherwise we'd accused of be biased
I saw 2 broken down BMWs on the way home just at the petrol station at the Red Cow, the funny thing was that the guy in the 3 series was helping to push the X5 into the petrol station!

In that case theres a Passat stuck in the hedge between Carrigtwohill and Little Island in Cork for the last few days. Sitting on some gorgeous not at all tacky 40" wheels too, he's probably selling em cheap if anyones interested

To be honest I can't remember the last time I saw an Alfa stuck at the side of the road, plenty of other stuff but then I suppose the other stuff is more popular.

Sorry to spoil the thread, but I'm afraid I came accross a broken 147 yesterday on the A3 near Chessington. Nasty place to break down, as there was no hard shoulder. Unfortunately I couldn't get across the three lanes in time to help him...Probably the cambelt!

1999 Ford Focus at work last Thursday.... Buring oil and running rough. Owner confirmed on Friday low compression on one cyl. Only 98k miles.

1998 Nissan Micra this morning on R600 heading south. Girl sitting in hard sholder with bonnet up and steam from exhaust... was about to pull in & help but other car pulled in first.....
