Old Muscle :D We drove !

Dedicated to all the cars we used to drive remember when a Heater was either Hot or Cold and you had to press a switch on the floor to use the wash wipe , Disks were something you hurt in your back . When a Bulb blew you didnt need an electronicis degree to change it ! And when you had a radio it was AM and MW none of this FM stuff , and stereo was when you fitted a second speaker
The 1st picture is my girldfriend (now wife!) Green 1100 cc Mini a car that hated me and I hated it !

Run away with my wife kill my child but dont touch my car

CYCLISTS! THEY PAY NOTHING I TELL YA NOTHING
FRANKLY i DON'T GIVE A DAMN
IF THE ABS LIGHT IS ON ITS TOO LATE !
100% OF NON SMOKERS DIE TOO

The next muscle car was a 94 1.1 Ford Fiesta ( yes cat included!) as fast as a turtle and once you accelerated about an hour before you wanted to move you were fine !

Then came the first real Luxury car a black fiesta Ghia which had the Zetec engine (1.2) but was a quick(ish!) car and had heated everything ( I do miss the heated windscreen !)

After the 96 Fiesta Ghia it was my Alfa 146 1.6 junior and the rest as they say is history , Now feel free to laugh poke fun at any or all of the above but haven't we come along way lads , some of the elders on here will remember having to change points ! and if you hadnt a supressor working you could hear the revs in your AM/MW radio. We also had to tune the radio to the aerial otherwise you would be listening to static , The young ones on here don't know how lucky they are , but then again there wasnt much to go wrong with the cars as there wasn't much in them in the first place

I'm so jealous Dave, I have had my blood line sullied by a German! 3rd 147, they are a great car!

Well I was a late comer to driving and only stated 3.5 years ago, first car was a '00 1.4 Golf, god I used to polish the hell out of that car! Then I drove the girlfriends mx5 then drove my car again and almost had a jaw breaking yawn and the rest as Dermo says is history.
I had this:

Exchanged it for this after I got my full licence
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rAhytjfgJF0/TQ...8072008286.jpg
and got this, and will probably have it for quite a while

I had to look through about 4 million photos's to get the few that I got , still couldnt get a pic of my first 2 cars , a 1100 escort (which later became a 1.3) , In the norrie land where i grew up one could drive through an area and when you came out the other side you had a 1.3 or no wheels . The second car before my wife's mini was a 1.6 Mk3 cortina , white with a black Vinyl roof

Well I passed my test in my dads Lada Riva 1.3s
What a piece of **** that car was in all its Ferrari red glory.
Parts literally fell off on a daily basis..... my dad arrived home from work one day with the drivers door in the boot.
I like to think that if you can drive one of them to an acceptable standard, anything else will be easy.

I used to love my brothers brown Mk1 Astra.
Quality one speaker radio which was fine.... as all I listened to was Atlantic 252.

Will Smiths Summertime crackling out while I drove the 9 miles to Dumfries for work with all the windows manually wound down.

Not likely. Don't think I ever overtook anyone or any thing in that car.

Its probably still knocking round Moscow as a taxi as we speak having done 3 million miles in the last 23 years.

Atlantic 252 I remember that! I remember one night they obviously played a prerecorded cd but they had it set to repeat rather than repeat all and Swamp Thing by The Grid played for the entire night uninterrupted!!!

First car a 1989 980cc ford fiesta. She was a jet fighter on rubber! (to me)

The long bolts holding the carborettor onto the intake would come loose every 5k miles. But there was an early warning system built in to highlight this. The car would blow strong petrol fumes in with the hot air. I would have loved to put this car thru an NCT to see what would pass!!

When you would slam the drivers door you could hear he rust fall down inside the door.

And the response from the steering was brilliant. It insulated the driver from what the front wheels were doing totally.

Nothing but Italian cars since I started driving Well my dad has always had Fiats, 127, Unos & Puntos so I was always going to end up starting of in them & I learnt to drive in a Uno 7 passed my test in one of the original Puntos.

I always wanted an Alfa but the Punto Sporting was a lot of new car for the money & I wouldn't have been able to insure much else so drove that for 5 years to build up my NCB.

Nice pic of the cash

& the GTV
