gearbox repair

Hi,

Anyone know of any decent gearbox repair centres with reasonable prices around Dublin, as my 147 has developed a problem with 4th gear(refuses to go in)

Thanks in advance,

Thats exactly what happened to my 156, While i was driving i couldnt get it out of 4th!
Stupid damn thing, i was debating if i should fix it or scrap it, went with the latter,
You 147 is more worthy of repair, You might have to get a reconditioned one,
You could order it yourself Traynors up north will bring it as far as dublin Their number is 04838891242.

Someone recommended Bohernabreena gearbox centre Number 01 4512893 I didnt use them but was told they are cheap enough and get the job done.

Before you go and waste time and money looking for gearboxes. Try the gear selector cables, the fact you can operate 3rd gear (which is in the same 'plane' as 4th would suggest the problem may not be with the 'box. 147 cables are known to go.

Yes I think I'll book it in with somewhere like Bohernabreena there not too far from me. I wouldn't know where to start looking for cables. My last resort only would be a recon box Hopefully it's something easy enough to fix.

Yes that's right Bohernabreena would be my closest option and probably the cheapest. I'll let you all know how I get on.
