They are a truly epic car. In every way I love em. Like yourself used hate them. They are perfect for everything IReland can throw at them and they are getting rediculasly cheap now but they will start to go up in value imo soon enough.

They just get under your skin and the pleasure never seems to subside.

It was the same for me as well. First time I've seen it it looked "out of balance" with that big rear end and small front, but now I think they look sublime. Too bad I can't get insured on a V6

As mine is my first Alfa. I have to say, I fell in love with it on sight, bought it on the spot. Something I've never ever done with a car. I always go away and do some research, and serious thinking first.

I was the same at first as well, and still think the same some times but I still think the facelift model looks far better. I love the way they are so cheap these days but if someone sees you driving a well sorted shiny one it easily out classes any BMW or Merc out there. There really is a certian cache that comes with them, only a certain sort of person with good taste and imagination can/will drive them...and Dermo.

The 166 had to grow on me, wasn't a huge fan of the face when it first burst onto the scene! But i love the car now, its a comfy car, its fast, it sounds wonderful, & it looks sensational!! I look at year 2000 BMW's, Audi's, Merc's, & they just look so mundane, & very much like Jeremy Clarkson i wanna open the window & shout at people "you bought the wrong car". Alfa's in my mind are pretty special but the 166, well she's something else again!

the off-set/side numberplate on the front kills the look for me tbh...
but since I saw a 166 with the 16" teledials moving in front of me for miles, I like those wheels too.

The super I just bought has had the number plate moved to the side and its actually starting to grow on me! I think it depends on the colour of the car, but then again the car has been slightly lowered and with those alloys she has it really sets her off. Sexy beast!

Kiki has one. It's funny veloices of London buy up every 3.2 facelift version that comes on sale and whacks a 3/4 grand premium on them immediately.

they are robbers. im always on their site drooling over the lovely cars they have in stock but they are way too over priced!

as much as i love alfas i never really moved past a fondness for the 166, alwyas thought the 156 was prettier.

But one thing with veloces you will get a mint car we bought our original 156 from them and it honestly wanted nothing it was pricey but a good and clean car. Certainly a better crowd to deal with than SDR

166's get under your skin, then the recession kicks in & you have to look at parting ways!!! i will miss her when she's gone!
