The doe is a shocking test. My work van had 2 bald tyres and the handbrake is so bad that I have to leave it in gear, its leaking oil from the turbo and one of the injectors weeps. They still passed it
The company policy on maintenance is wait till it breaks down or fails the test so on it rumbles.

Best of Luck with the NCT though

Ya heard that the DOE is far easier than the NCT. I even cleaned it last night twas about time I di tbh . Thanks Frank hopefully the 166 will pass or fail on something small , I'm on leave next week so if its a not too serious fail may be able to get it sorted without having to go to waterford ..

Ya i even hate embarrassing the car by putting the foooking disc up , in the 156 I put it under the rear view mirror so when i was stopped they would just be about to say something and then they'd notice the cert. I also like putting the insurance and tax disc's wrong way up

Run away with my wife kill my child but dont touch my car

CYCLISTS! THEY PAY NOTHING I TELL YA NOTHING

The gf's punto has the NCT today. I was travelling around Cork looking for a 10W rear sidelight bulb last night and fitting it in twilight. Grandons petrol station came to rescue. One garage near blackrock didnt even have bulbs for cars, how ****e is that! Most other cars use 5W, so the 10W was difficult to find, bulb failure light wouldnt go out with 5W, wasnt sure if that was a fail due to a warning lamp being on or not.

Well the van failed on brake hose's but they are now replaced and its only a looksy so no charge , but lucky i was not driving far as the bloke in the DOE garage forgot to put the dipstick back . DIPSTICK

Secondly the 166 went in this AM failed on bushes (worn) front and rear everything else ok !

So off to get bushes fitted , are bushes green?

You got off alright there, two simple fixes. I want to see pictures of you fitting the bushes, I reckon it might be a good laugh

I don' think you can replace the bushes, you'll have to get the whole arm. Or get powerflex bushes. but then again I'm probably wrong.
