The Detail that wasn't

This is the type of professional Job one can expect from The Professionals , I have emailed them to await a reply and also left message's on their phone but as I have not heard any reply I have now decided that you can make up your own minds of what damage these professionals can do ! As you know my car was a driveway ornament for about 4-5 weeks because of these professionals

No Rob you might get into trouble . There will be a time when the bat will be of use but to be fair I wouldnt need any implement for THAT Impediment of a detailer ! Pity he's in the wrong city as there would be a few government departments hanging around his place of business for a few weeks !

He should've had at least the decency to reply to your calls and e-mail. That says a lot about him.

I'm really not sure as he said he didn't touch the engine . He said he cleaned the interior of the 166 as well and lo and behold he didnt touch that either ! Perhaps someone broke into his place , and decided to wax the engine bay and then leave . I think that could be what happened , it seems likely ?

I never ever made a thread there it was Mysterio and have no intention . Just wanted to make sure all our Alfa friends dont use him . Not too worried about the beemer brigade or Mersesades crowd . I did say on my before thread that i would do an after thread on here so not really bothered about him really . Once bitten twice shy !

I want to follow his responses and pathetic excuses like the last time.

Shoddy work like that deserves to be highlighted.

I'm more confused than ever now. So did he charge you for waxing and state what he was using? To get down there it would obviously need to be a crappy powerhose applied wax or a spilled liquid wax but he would need to have been cleaning the engine bay to spill it on your plugs. I'm really interested in getting a PTG on your paint now.
Anywho, with the rates he charges people should be made aware of what he is doing.

I inspected the car the day after the "detail" and it was not great to say the least but when I heard the price..... but I saw the engine damage first hand and it is liquid wax and it is a bit worrying as to where the bulk of it was approx 4 inches from the main engine ecu and fly by wire throttle body.

Here is the email but as said he didnt have time to do the engine or interior so he took 50 Yoyo's off the price , but like a wallie i spent the money anyway on a Mit and shampoo ..

"Hi Dermot,

Apologies for the delay in replying.

We only have the one detailing studio - although if you fancy a trip to Dublin, the local 4 star hotel are doing rooms for €40 at the moment.

We would need the car for two days and the cost would be €275 for exterior, with additional €75 for engine/interior.

All the best,

So you can see what he offered and when i picked up the car (he had it from 10 ish monday to 19.45 tuesday ) he stated that he hadnt time to do the engine and TBH he hoovered the interior as a muddy mark on the door (which rubbed off when i got home with a damp cloth) was still on the door. There are also dirty scuff marks on the B pillar which are still on the car . As Dave said he can confirm the state of the car when he took the sparks out

Hi Dermo, I have only been briefly following this thread and am not up to speed, what exactly did you ask for to be done? Reason I ask is because while down picking up parts yesterday in Donohoes (well known Alfa Fiat dealership) there is a car detailing place beside them and two lads were doing a job on a Lexus so I went over to inspect it and it was a fine job. I asked him how much for the 155 and he said full interior cleaned and shampooed and the outside washed and waxed and polished for €90. Now that seems cheap to me but I seen their work on the other car and was quite good.
I asked him how much for an engine and engine bay and he said he refuses to do that because it can cause too much hassle as you found yourself so he seems to know his stuff.

Hey Mark, before the meet in Mondello, I've used some guys from ecovalet.ie .90 for a full valet and 50 for the engine bay. Tbh they did a pretty good job, and they come to your house.

wow, that's not bad. how long did it take to get it done, and how much did you have to wait for the interior to dry out fully?
