Its a 2.4jtd 20v 04 156 SW. An unfriendly bump in the road is topping off
An already pants day. Any help would be greaitly appriceated.

bad luck ! same thing happened me a few years ago in a 156. Hit a rock......blew off the sump.....oil everywhere! (Car coming against me on otherside of road, so couldn't avoid 'rock' on my side) Didn't drive the car after the rock impact, got a recovery truck home, bought & fitted new sump, fresh oil & filter and back motoring again. It's a pain in the *** as you need a recoverery truck (or tow) to get car home or to garage.

**** that-you bust the sump on the N3? Please tell me that it was on a section that will be redundant as a national road once the M3 opens later this year?

Maybe contact Autolusso, they may have some used bits in stock.

No idea of the diesel and petrol sumps are the same for the 156, but if they are, twiggmeister has at least 1 156 he is breaking.

Thanks folks. Autolusso and Donohoes will get a call in the morning along with scrappies and any other names that popup over night. I am thinking it might be a good idea to stiffen up the shocks and springs because I dont want to have to do this too often. It is a Veloce but it is a fraction soft.

It was on the Monalty to Kells road but the light came on after Kells on the N3 and so I pulled in straight away.

Thanks K. A friend has offered to weld it so I will give that a go first. If it is not good enough I will get back to you.

Welding job done and its a goodun. Sump went on last week and no leaks so happy days. and on the upside the it got an oil change too. €80 to get the sump fixed + postage. Some place in Dublin wanted €200 for the same job. Sure and if you ask I will drop my pants too. Some companies still need to wake up and join 2010.

Thanks for all the help though folks.
