Not Happy I'm now on 16's

Our 166 now has three 18" oval wheels, the state of the ********** roads around here are just ridiculous, my wife found a crater on a road on sunday....... The Ti was already lowered but it looks like a pimp mobile now with the 16's it's so low.. A friend of mine is bringing a set of 20" rims up to East Coast Alloys, anyone know anything about them? what do rims cost to straighten now? I know Damien was on about some crowd up in Tipperary.

Man that sucks. Ive heard reasonalbe things about the service from east coast alloys but have no direct experience of them.

If it was me, I wouldn't be able to resist putting 16" steelies on it and leaving it filthy for a few weeks, just for that wrecked agressive look.

Will it be possible to straighten the rims? Ive heard of some being a total loss when they're damaged

Kiki ring me tomorrow if you want? your man in Tipp Town is savage and only costs 75 euro a wheel for them to be straightend and painted so it's not too bad. I'll be getting my speedlines done by him.

Wheels are now straight, will know tomorrow once I've fitted them. Got them done in Kilmallock, got the four of them done only charged me for three €120.. not bad.
The bending of these wheels has shown up something interesting, two of the tyres were worn on the inside (nothing unusual there, I hear ye say) but no even all the way around, there was still a bit of tread on one side but very worn the other side, the wheels must have been slightly bent for a good while causing the tyre to wear back round... I wonder will the car feel smoother now...and maybe the torque steer will go away... and maybe lighter on petrol.. and the air bag light will go off.... and the drivers side headlight will start working again...

Yup just got my car back today from main dealers with new suspension parts on both left & right... $$$$$$ well there goes the weekend away out the window... ah well at least that terrible knocking sound is gone.....

If you hear AA roadwatch on the radio today saying there is a 5 mile tailback on the airport hill going west that'll be me going very slow with my new suspension over the bumps on the way home...

no.. it's just we care....

It's amazing though how some people don't notice potholes and broken suspension... I got a lift last week off a lad in work and his suspension sounded like someone trying to get out of the boot with a hammer! Really.... I kinda mentioned that the roads were bad seeing if he'd comment on his clunky suspension.... nope. This was in a 2008 Avensis; and this car won't see an NCT for another 2 years.... imagine how scary it'll be by then...

The only reason they are reliable is because the sad gits that buy them just potter around and would never wear out anything
