motor control system failure!! argh!

So I have that bloody warning up again.

Had the ERG replaced a month or two ago and now the damn light has come on again only this time its worse its lost power as I'm driving.

I had it towed by the RAC 5 mins ago to their depo and i'm going to book it in to Auto Mainenance in Finglas tomorrow.

Was so horrible to see it being towed away.

I would advise you to drop it into Gerry in Ti Autos, if possible.

my reply came out wrong there I wasnt dismissing your help btw. I just read that he's generally very busy and probably wouldnt see the car on such short notice and the only other place I can think of that I heard were good was Auto Maintenance who are alfa/fiat specialists as well seemingly. I've never used them just heard they knew what their at.
thanks for the reply though. If auto mainenance cant look at it tomorrow I'll give Gerry a call and see can he look at it instead. By the sounds of things though he'll be busy.

Never heard of Auto Maintenance tbh. That's not dismissing them, but I've had Alfas for over 4 years around Dublin and nobody has a rep like Ti.

Just had a look at their site there and they seem to use the same diagnostics as Gerry Campbell (Brain Bee Scan Tool System).

I got my first ever MCSF light come on around a month ago. Dave Nolan ran a diagnostic and cleared it (nothing much wrong), but a few days later, it came back on and has been on since. Luckily enough, doesn't seem to be causing any issues, even if I do feel like boost pressure might be down ever so slightly at times....

Sucks that it seems to be a worse issue for you. Hopefully Auto Maintenance will sort it.

Cowboys Ted, they're a bunch of cowboys!

I'll use these guys this time if they're good fair enough but if not I'll be straight on to this guy Gerry you're all talking about. He sounds like he knows his s...

When my ERG thing happened before they guy cleaned it first that got rid of the light then it came on a few hours later. There was no loss of power though.

This time there is a loss of power and the bleedin ERG has not only been cleaned but fully replaced so i doubt its that. I dont have a clue in fairness so we'll see what these guys come back with. Hope they can see it tomorrow.

It popped up once when we left a clown of a sales rep drive the 147 when we were going to trade it in and it never came up. From reading the site some of the lads seem to have fixed it by fitting a new battery.

Ya as above the problem can be a run down battery . For 60-70 yoyo's it seems a cheap alternative than going to a garage ? maybe worth a try.
