Alfaless - Temporary break

Following in the footsteps of Dermo, my status as an Alfaowner is no more.

Sold the GTV last weekend.
Happy to have the financial breathing space but sad to see the car go. It was well looked after with loads of work done.

Thankfully the car was bought by an Alfitisi. He is not on the forums but arrived in a 2.5 V6 156, which couldn't get past the NCT. So a GTV 3.0 V6 will be his daily steed.

GTV Cup is on my wishlist.

Short term goodbye.

Welcome back rikd. Glad you still have your Brera. Lovely car.

I hope to be back in an italian steed next year.

Curse the tax system. Shame the 2.2 is the Brera's smallest engine......
More likely is the combo of another GTV for summer use and a 156 (facelift) for daily use (finances dependant!)

Pity you had to get rid of it, never saw it in the flesh but only heard good things about it. I'd buy one myself except for our car tax...along with having to do 20k miles a year.

That's a shame-how about a nice 155 or 146 to tide you over?

Haha!
Is there not a little bit more work to be done on the 155?
Stop! don't tempt me. I'm weak.

(Sorry, still 2 cars in the driveway - mint 12yr old 323f to be NCT'd and sold off)

There's a really nice one for sale in Clontarf-you will get it for less than €1500 if it's still for sale and all that it needed to pass it's NCT was to have the brake regulator seen to (prob just a spring that would cost f all to replace).

There's also a been a few nice cars highlighted in the 'Alfa's for sale in Ireland' thread.

Larry you know I love that GTV even I'm sad to see it go. Having had the fun og driving this car before what a rapid car I have to say and top spec one too. Get yourself a Ti 146 man, theres a mint rosso one on Auto Italia and cheap too. Keep snooping in here too and get yourself to meets in the mini.

I know. That was one aspect of the car I loved.
Thankfully they are still reasonably plentiful in the UK. Although the count of GTV's for sale on P/H now is averaging around 25 to 26. 2 years ago it was around 55 to 56 advertised.

Cheers Fd. Likewise, great to see you're sticking with the 33. Looks very well and a rare sight on our roads.

Have to offload the Mazda first before any purchase man.
Cheers for the invite. No probs arriving in the mini. If I park behind a 166 ye'll never see me
I will be watching the prices of Brera's very closely over the coming months. If the 3.2 drops below 14k ....

That car has been for sale for while. Not sure I like the red/cream dash/trim (seats look good), but it's a beauty.

My advice Larry is to go with a private sale Brera because they are soooo much easier to haggle down the price. This one is not bad
Alfa Romeo Brera for sale in Clare: €17,500 - DoneDeal.ie

Then again go all the way with this

That Clare Brera is unexpectedly affordable. No! Stop now. Deep breaths and count to 10.
2.2. Just can do that this year

Hey Gav, neon lights look great on 323f's
