It's right, IIRC there were only 17 sold in January last year.

Alfa only have themselves to blame, the cheapest petrol engine has Road Tax of Ä1050 ( excluding those in the Mito )

Its probably because the country is virtually bankrupt and the Gov is screwing the motorist as always!

The 159 JTD is rubbish from an emissions POV. You can get the 320d and and A4 143bhp in Band B for tax/VRT. Even the 520d auto and A6 are more efficient than the 159. I wouldn't like to see the 159 becoming a fleet car, but it is potentially denying Alfa a lot of sales for this reason. Heck, I can't even put it on our list as it isn't in bands A-C.

Maybe in the UK, but in Ireland, it's probably the busiest month as the reg changes.

the only audi in group b is the 1.6 a3's no A4's, and the BMW is the 320 efficient dynamics one.

the cheapes A4 as far as co2 is the 2.0 tdi 136 and thats in group C.

cheapest 159 1.9jtdm 8v eco, falls into group E with a co2 of 138 - £20380

audi A4 2.0 tdi 136 (basic no options), group C with a co2 of 120 - £24225

and that special BMW is the "only" BMW in group B with a co2 of 109 - otr £26480

but look at the price differences

At the big scrapyard in the sky:
Mk2 Punto Active Sport 1.2 8vStilo Schumacher GP147 1.6 TS LussoMk1 Punto Sporting 1.2 16v156 1.8 TS Lusso

On the 8th day God created BMW, on the 9th day, he traded it in for an Alfa Romeo :evillaugh:

You are aware this thread is in the Irish lounge and I am referring to the Irish tax/emissions system?
