You could park in the Luas Park and Ride centre at the Mad Cow and get the Luas into O'Connell street then jump on a bus out. Cant think of any free parking closer to the venue.

Parking is free in/around the city centre from 19 November to 27 December from 2pm every Thurs-Sun.

Transport for Dublin - News - Dublin City - Free Christmas On Street Parking

Get the bus or DART to Sandymount.

Otherwise, parking on Sunday is often free in certain locations outside the city centre.

No worries. My sister lives near enough to the RDS so if I'm around the area in the next week, I'll post up any parking info I can find.

Hi
I went to this show last year and it is crap and a huge waste of money. I paid for the paddock area and this was also a waste of time and money. The lads worked to a script for the whole show which in my opinion was aimed at 4 year olds. The best part was the private car display area which was interesting but didn't make up the €125.00 price tag.
Be warned, its a rip off.

Regards

Sean

Why dont they have it at Mondello or somewhere with a track so you can see them and the stig doing laps and star in a reasonably priced car etc....

Thanks for that Sean we just have the tickets there for the paddock etc. I was talking to a lad who was there last year and he said the opposite. I suppose if you go in there with a mind set that it is light entertainment without it challenging the brain it will be a good one.

That's exactly it Damien. It is a show. It is not a petrolhead love in. Go there and enjoy the day for what it is. To be honest, for those that give out about it being scripted/dumbed down etc, have you seen the title? TOP GEAR. You either like the concept or you don't. If you don't why did you go? Is it overpriced? Hugely. Would I go see it again. No. Did I regret going once? No. Don't pay for the VIP tickets as its backstage thing is about as exclusive as 50% of the entire audience showing up and pushing around. Get out quickly afterwards to the general car display. There's a huge amount of very tasty cars. Including a 8C last year. Which was gob smacking. And a Veyron, which was nice to see in person.

If you have to travel to a motor show, there's cost of flight+accommodation and by the end of the day you're tired of cars. Here they bring the cars to you, and you also get entertained - if you want something heavy, ready the Ulysses

Nice Sounds like we will enjoy it. As I said I'm not going to the show for a literary piece if I wanted that I'd read a book. But sure like everything its what you make of it personally is how it's going to pan out.
