October Bank holiday Monday

Hi Lads,

I might be free on the bank holiday Monday 26th October and might head up around the Dub/Wicklow mountains for a wee spin. Will take in Ballinastoe Forrest (Where Gav posted those great pics) so if anybody is free your welcome to join..........

I could do Monday alright. Will be doing a fair bit of driving that weekend, I have a 30th on in Louisburgh Co. Mayo on the Friday, then back to Bray for a Halloween party. Which reminds me I have to start planning the materials for the costume....

Can we make the meet either first thing in the morning (not likely because of sore heads) or in the evening to avoid all the traffic up there?

Not sure if around yet, but sounds like a good way to pass a morning/afternoon! Have I got my dates right and the bank holiday is the Monday before the 31st (which is a Saturday) rather than after it - why is that?

Send a letter to the green party - they seem to be able to arrange anything at the moment

the only change the green party made to this government is that the envelope they use for the bribe money is now made from recycled paper

Hi Lads,

Yes indeed its Monday the 26th but is hallloween not the following weekend? My teacher friend assures me it is. Good point Gav about the traffic, I never thought of that. The clocks go back on the Sunday so we cant do evening as there wont be any light so I'd go for maybe 10:30 to 11ish, Is that too early or too late? I was thinking of meeting at the Spawell carpark for between 10 and 10:20 then take the Killakee road up the mountains which is a super climb and some great lookouts on the way up for photos.

Dont bend the rules, Rule the bends

I'm not going to lie, I will be in bits on the Monday morning if I am out the previous night, I just can hack 3 nights in a row any more!!

So shall we say early evening, the thinking being that all the traffic will be going the other way I'm thinking about 3/4 pm

Where abouts is the Spawell hotel? If its where I think it is if it make no difference will I meet you at Ballinastoe where I took those photo's instead? I was going to do something like this google map and Levante if you are still coming I could call into you on the way, what do you think?

So whats the plan for this? I'd rather not get caught in fading light in the evening but can appreciate not driving with a sore head first thing in the morning. I'd be up for meeting up in spawell first too as its on the way down for me.
