Got it back from Gerry this evening, he replaced the variator, timing belt, tensioners, idler pully, checked and reset the ECU and even topped up the engine oil all for €495, im really happy with the job he and his son did and the price is fantastic considering i was quoted upto €1100 by some garages, he showed me the belt and it was well gone, lucky. ill be back to him from now on, GO GERRY!

Gerry is a legend and by far and away one of the cheapest and best men for the job there's a reason why he's always busy It's easily broken that phase sensor.

Gerry always comes up trumps. Always get his advice if you can for anything. Last time I was in with him he was telling me he is trying to get his son into the business to take over. If there is nobody to take over when he retires we'll be lost

Dave would be up there with Gerry imo. Great on prices and knows Fiats/alfas and anything Italian really like the back of his greasy paw

btw Dave, do you happen to have (or do you have access to) 4 non-lowering springs for my 166?
