Front bumper (nct)

hi i have just put my 99 156 through the nct it failed for a cracked bumper it. one crack above the fog lamp on the passanger side and another to the right. not that noticable but failed none the less i want to sell this car asap so i want to try and fix it cheap. for a garage to do it it will cost 300. is fiber glass reinforment a diy job and will it hold firm if i attack the job from the inside as this will cut the cost of a respray. or altenativly is any one selling a green bumper. or i might just swap the bumper for the nct if any one has one going cheap (ireland)

Why is that a failure?

Surely it's not a safety problem......our second car, a crappy 106 has passed the MOT every year with a bucket load of duck tape holding the bumper on!

first he said in case i rubbed of any one they would get cut. to which i pointed out that they should be more worried about being underneath a moving car. so he changed his story to "in case kids were playing with my car in a car park. to which i pointed out if there parents let kids play underneath cars alone in a parking lot once again they have more to be worried about than a slight risk of a scratch. hey what can you do there is no arguing with that kind of logic.

Wrap your bumper in good old duck tape, pass the NCT with flying colours, then take the tape off again.

I think you should do what Ronan says and run it through the NCT in a different test centre, try Fonthill if Naas keep failing you
