09 Alfa 159 JTDm 150Bhp Problems

Hi all

Itís been a while from I was last on the site - hope you all are keeping well.
Iíve been having one or two problems with my 159 Ė Can anyone tell me is it normal

1 Rear passenger door lock started making noise and had to be replaced

2 Windscreen started to rattle

3 Gearbox Surround Cracked

4 Car Delivered with centre clock scratched - still waiting on parts

5 Rear drivers side lock making noise - needs to be replaced

6 Electric window/ Electric Mirror Switch Broke / Fell apart

7 Microphone for ďBlue and MeĒ was replaced but still not working - Can be improved any better i'm told. now using an alternative.

8 Problem with from suspension. Front of the car is getting lower. I used to be able to drive into my park without catching the ramps, now if I crawl over them I am catching the bottom of the car.

Iíve only got 40k on the clock from I picked it up in Feb. During this time the car sat up for over 8 weeks when I was laid up after and operationÖ.

Well folks, what am I doing wrong, do i need to go back to "take care of you car class"? I'd have thought that the car isnít even broken in. Iím doing about 7K Km per month, surely the alfa should be up for that?

Your doing nothing wrong really to be honest man. Not sure why the car is failing like that. Switchs I dunno why they are falling apart to be honest. Never had any issues with switches on any alfa we have had. Suspension could be from whacking into potholes. No car likes them to be honest. And door locks fail on any car. VW passats are pigs for them breaking.

Thanks for the advice Tom... I'm due to change in Jan and I must say event though i did have all the problems with my current 159 the temptation to go back and buy another is great. This time I may look at the 2.0 JTDm 170bhp. It seem like it's going to be a better bet than the 2.4 Diesel. What's the opinion folks?

The 2.4 isn't handy on juice but I see a load of them on the road all northern reg rep cars look savage i have to say.

The 2.4 is like a train to pull not sure about the 2l haven't been in one of them.
