GT 1.9JTDm service

got the 38km service yesterday completed on the GT in Lismard. Very helpful there and gave me a courtesy car for 3hrs while it was in.

Since the oil change, its much quieter....

I know there aren't many diesel owners on here and this is my first, but does anyone else think 20k km is too much in between services for the oil to be changed? Its a huge difference between yesterday and today....even DamienC wouldn't be able to tell its a tractor..!!

The recommended service interval according to the service schedule for my 147 TS is also 20K but I get it serviced every 10K

Re: GT 1.9JTDm service

Gerry Campbell says 20k for my car Tom and that's good enough for me.

Same in the service book Ciaran. The same engine in the Vectra 1.9CDTi gets it done every 20k miles, so are we being ripped off?

Re: GT 1.9JTDm service

That seems a bit long between changes for a turbo diesel ?? I change mine every 6K miles in the JTDm.

Re: GT 1.9JTDm service

Have owned a few diesels - but this my first alfa one...
Previous were Peugeot - first was change every 6k miles for non-turbo, but with advent of high pressure, and turbos that increased to 20km..

I think it's too much and get it done every 10-12km (or whatever 8k miles is) - and now that I have the bigger alfa am definitely going for that, and not waiting.
Will probably get my bro to do it next time I'm home - no need to get a "service" done.
