the joy of living in Ireland....

....got my first pay cheque today of 2009 & the new government levy has been taken! To Brian & the boys, well done you're doing a great job, i'm so glad i voted for you. That on top of the rise in VAT rates whcih has served the government so well as people drive up to the North to take advantage of the UK's reduction in VAT!

Be warned, they'll also add the 1% to overtime/on-call work from December that gets paid a month after the event. Technically that pay shouldn't have the levy charged on it as it is work from last year. But they're doing it to everyone and only clearing up those who bother to ring. Sneaky sneaky *******s we have running this place (that's Ireland, not AO.com!! )
