To be an Alfa purist or not

"A purist is one who desires that a particular item remain true to its essence and free from adulterating or diluting influences"

Having now bought a lovely '96 GTV should I get the nice phase 2 wheels even though they werent (to the best of my knowledge) available for my model of car. I like to believe that I am a purist was far as trim and colour goes but nothing else.

Any opinions on this?

Re: To be an Alfa purist or not

Hi mate, personally I think you should get them as they do make the car look alot 'better'.

Here's my 1997 Ph1 GTV that I had;

https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfas...-1250-ono.html

The only mods on the car were the Ph2 wheels and the Ph2 front grill, oh and the smoked side repeaters, but I didn't really like them,

It's not like you are sticking 'aftermarket' wheels on, the 16" Tele's on my GTV 'were' GTV wheels, so I was therefore still a purist,

And so can you be, with the upgraded Phase 2 wheels!!!!!

Get wheels once the mods you do to the car are tasteful and in keeping with the style it's all good. And the phase 2 wheels are mint

Argh, there's the question,

Um, I'd post a thread in the wanted section, or check out the Irish eBay perhaps?

I am a purist although I don't think you'd be doing anything really wrong by going for those wheels. They are at least genuine Alfa Romeo. Going spurious now would be a different matter.
