Good Driving Roads

Post here any really good driving roads. No motorways allowed!

I was in wicklow last weekend, around Sally Gap and Glendalough. Savage for driving, sally gap is a place I would go back simply to drive the roads and see the views once again. Only partial downer was I wasnt driving my Alfa, but I was driving a Scoobi Forester for the weekend which to be honest was made for those roads. Brilliant fun.

Re: Good Driving Roads

ah yeah, anywhere up in the wicklow mountains is great

up from tallaght into the mountains, up past the viewpoint (if you've not been, stop and look at the view!!), follow the road until it pops you out of the mountains a very twisty turny hour or so later

On the way to Killarney, take the left turn to Kenmare and go out that road, some nice long stretches and nice curving bends to enjoy !!!

Co Cavan:

Heading toward cavan on the N3, partway into Virginia there's a fork to the left, take this and you're on the Ballyjamesduff road.... GREAT road!
Not overly bumpy, but lots of twisties and a fairly good road surface.
Enter Ballyjamesduff turn right then left then follow and enjoy another twisty turny fun road. Get to a T-junction turn right follow this till after the first village ya come to, take first right after village and follow for more twisties and fun (pretty uneven surface though) all the way to cavan town.

Adds 40 mins to your journey, but in rush hour, actually takes about the same amount of time, and is infinately more enjoyable

the irish country roads go round and round, round and round, round and round

........ AND I LOVE IT!
