Engine Sound

Hi, I drive an Alfa 147 1.6 Petrol and in the past 2 months the engine often sounds very much as if its a diesel engine. Does anyone have any experience of this and what the cause could be?
Thanks!

Get the work done ASAP. Allowing the timing belt to snap is a bad thing.

News just in, apparently the Pope is, believe it or not, Catholic!

And, if the early reports are accurate, we may even have proof that bears crap in the woods..
