Lee Garage, Cork

Just seen on their website that they are now an Alfa Romeo dealer, anyone know when this happened, does it mean the " other " Alfa dealer in Cork might lose it???

I'm not sure that they are an official Alfa dealer ( unless this has changed lately ), but like most Fiat dealers they have sold Alfa's for years, they are an official service centre AFAIK

"ALFA IN THE CITY...We have appointed a new Alfa Specialist with over 20 years experience to care for your Alfa"

Sounds like they have just taken on a new guy in the service dept. ?

No idea, I could be wrong, just a guess that's what the statement means.
Maybe they got someone in from the Alfa factory in Italy while it was closed for the last 2 months

I have my moments

I doubt it, I imagine they'd be charging "city rates" anyway too much hassle

Re: Lee Garage, Cork

Shower of rip off merchants. I needed to get my car serviced and didn't know anywhere else to bring it bar the boyo's in Glanmire. I brought it in and said I had a problem with the clutch (dropping to the floor and not returning). They told me when I was collecting it that "it would be a huge job...likely to cost at least a €1000 and the clutch was in big trouble...won't know until we open it up". I told them I thought it might have been the slave cyclinder but no they were not about to be told by someone else. A few months down the line, the clutch drops to the floor permanently. Eventually got it home and did a bit more research on t'interweb. A neighbour said that Stephen Murphy (MMW) on the Monahan Rd might be able to sort it out. Brought it down to Stephen and he had it sorted inside two days (he had to order in, guess what a new slave cylinder) and got the job done for 150 sheets.

Lee Garage are a shower of cnuts. Avoid at all costs.

Girlfriend has my old punto, they've only ever been helpful with both of us dealing with it, diagnose strange noise problems in an instant along with anything else, found then to be really good and efficient.

Re: Lee Garage, Cork

Good to see another dealer in this area. Dammed if I'll ever go back to that other shower in Glanmire ever again, been going to Old Chapel up untill now but the hourish drive from Cobh to Bandon for a service etc is annoying.

Re: Lee Garage, Cork

Just a heads up there lads, recently had a some necessary work carried out on my 156 2.0TS SW: head gasket, front wishbones, rear antiroll bars, thermostat and engine service. Work carried out by Denis Hegarty garage in upper glanmire,. Ex Grandons knows his alfas, straight up guy and fair pricing, compared to others in the area!. I paid him 1200.00, with all original parts. had the car for 4 full days. was quoted 450.00 plus Labour for the had gasket only by the main dealer. worth a shout... IMHO

My two cents - been bringing cars to Denis for years - even bought from him before. - top class guy with great, reasonably priced work.

I have ordered a Mito from Lee, so far they have been very good. I must say that the ones in Glanmire made it very difficult to buy a car from them. Not very reassuring . I have had some pretty good recommendations from people about Lee. I hope they live up to it as I will be dealing with them for the next few years.

I used to always bring my 156 to a local garage, I would buy the parts myself and they would fit them. Worked out for both of us.

Had the same experience with the garage in Glanmire. I literally had the cash for the car I wanted in my pocket. The staff were brutal, after 30 minutes of trying to find a salesman he didn't want to let me test drive the car,I just left. It was only a 5K car but the way things are you'd think they'd bite your damn hand off for the sale

Errm no they have no courtesy or cop on in Glanmire at all, How do they expect to sell cars if they don't allow you test drive them . Perhaps they think their Ferrari who sell you a car and then keep it and let you drive them occasionally . They havnt changed in 30 years and looks like they never will !
