Can you get access to your airbag ECU with it?

I have the sw and cable, but can only get access to the engine ECU! Really annoying, as I have an airbag fault logged from moving the seat that I want to clear!

From the alfadiag site I am fairly sure it is the cable, as my car is a 99 Spider and not EOBD complaint..

Re: Alfadiag in West Cork

I'm leaving it in to Gerry for a service and new radiator tomorrow, he will reset it for me too.

Problem is, although I am careful not to move the seat with the ignition on, the place I park is one of those where they park it for you (nice lads, they call it the jacuzzi...), and I am sure that it won't be long before it comes on again.

It would be handy to be able to clear it myself. There is also something satisfyingly geeky about connecting my laptop to the car...!

Just tried it there now and it does not let me connect to the airbag system, I get a warning saying be careful and then it does not connect.

Not sure, the cable I have is this one:

USB ISO OBD-II / VAGCOM / AlfaDiag KKL Interface keywords [USBVAGCOM] - 29.99 : ECUFix.com, Affordable Technology

Am in Cork most days working so could meet up and try it if you like?

Bummer.

From what I have been able to gather, the non-EOBD compatible cars use a different pin for the airbag ECU, and the standard EOBD cable will not work.

I found some techno-babble to get around it involving switching pin 9 with blah blah flange B blah blah grommit C, but ran out of my technical ability before getting to the end of the article

Looks like I will have to rely on Gerry!

Re: Alfadiag in West Cork

Got my software connected, works fine but no issues with the car. Usually life is pretty hectic but if any1 has a non-supportive Alfadiag car then my software will support all 01- onwards petrol cars. Reads faults code amongst other stuff.
