so pis**d off!!!

Title says it all. Decided to give the GTV a good clean this morning only to find some Fu**er has opened their door onto mine - result a nice 50p sized dent in the middle of my passenger door.

Saw a little gadget on ebay - works in the same way a sink plunger does. Only cost about 3 quid so I thought I'd give it a go. Anyone tried them?

I do all the usual stuff - park in a far corner of a car park etc. Just wondering if anyone has found a way to put a protective strip on the doors without spoiling the look of the car?

cheer me up people

Re: so pis**d off!!!

The dent man is the best for these small pings.

Rotten of people to crash their doors into our cars.

I've got to be very careful not to have the Spider's noses crushed by some mammoth SUV front end.

good luck with it

Re: so pis**d off!!!

ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh one of my hates. I paid £150 to have nine dents removed from my car and i alway park in a space for family or disabled ( i know i should'nt) to avoid such dents. Car parks would be so nice if they were laid out like a disabled parking spot. I do note the cars next to mine when i park up, and when i return if the same cars are there then i don't need to look, if either cars have gone i check for any dents

I dont know about this gismo off e-bay i took it to proffesionals. If this e-bay gismo works then i might also purchase one.

B***ARDS have no brain or consideration.

Re: so pis**d off!!!

This is a pet hate - I am always aware of other peoples cars when I open my doors and always make a point of telling the kids to be careful.

Up 2 scratch should have a local branch - normally around £50 to remove a few dents

Re: so pis**d off!!!

I have a foolproof system which costs nothing to operate, does not involve using spaces reserved for the handicapped, does no harm to the environment, and never leads to the stress described in the OP. I never wash cars.

Nicely put JTL.

I will own up to parking in spaces for parents with kids. However, I will never ever park in a disabled bay. Unless I'm carting my Gran aboot.. as she has a badge.

Re: so pis**d off!!!

I am prepared to walk that extra distance if it means parking away from the crowd of cars..........

I once approached my car in Tesco's to see a woman strapping in her baby she had her car door fully wide hitting mine, As I approached she closed the door up and appologised - luckily there was no damage....but Bl00dy hell....

Luckily it was my Laguna - which had thick door panels....

She probably had to park there because all the parent and baby spaces were taken by childless numpties.

Re: so pis**d off!!!

Cant wait to get rid of all my dents,

A while ago i was dropping my girlfriend off at the train station and left the car in the car park for a minute as i went to help her with bags etc,

As i was walking back i saw a group of old people heading to an SUV parked next to me (but not too close). one of the old women then opened the door so wide she wallopped the side of my car.

Everyone got in the car quickly and i shouted "oi, youve just hit my car".. Went up to the window and knocked on it and said it again and they simply tried to drive off. I then shouted something that i would never normally admit to saying to an old person.

I felt like kicking the side of the wing in lol.

Its unusual to see it happen in front of you, but still...what can you do about it?

Re: so pis**d off!!!

It's no wonder dent repairers are flourishing. I just paid out £40 to get a car door dent removed from the 147, inflicted just one hour after buying the car from new

However, it look all new and straight now

Anyone thought of buying a dent/chip franchise?

I used Dent Devils when my friend's kid did that to mine. The guy did an excellent job.
