Exhausts...

grr....plans for the day, down the pan.

i recently ordered a new, admittedly non-OEM downpipe, a silenced decat from cybox, a non-OEM centre pipe, and a csc backbox.

got all parts together today, ready to fit. unwrapped the downpipe, and the welds are on the inside of the bloody manifold flange, not the outside! total restriction of around 7mm into the pipe where the weld bead is at its widest, also i noticed that the downpipe isnt mandrel-bent, meaning the bloody thing is narrower than standard into the bends...

also, noticed that the holes on the two-bolt flange on the centre pipe for connecting to the cat are narrower than the holes on the decat, and therefore the bolts supplied with the decat are too thick to go through, and i dont have others...

centre pipe not a big problem, i can get smaller bolts, but the downpipe is shocking! see here for details and pics....

just ****ed off that i cant get it done. how can companies get away with selling crap like this downpipe???

Re: Exhausts...

just looked at the photos, man thats ruff! (looks like a friday afternoon special!)

don't worry, expensive(ish) ones are not much better! (from what ive seen)
only time you REALLY get what you pay for is when you spend top money, for top name products

oh and of course, you could make your own!!!!

Re: Exhausts...

the annoying thing is, i probably could weld that to be better. except i got rid of my welder to help get the cash for my new engine but i dont want to weld that one, due to the crappy bends. wheres the best place to get an alfa one from? im also wondering if the manifold will be the same....
