Not Happy Dozy Bin Men and Collections

We have the dreaded fortnightly collections round my way, but I deal with it by doing a fair whack of recycling which is collected weekly. We always fill our bin - a day longer than the fortnight and it would be overflowing though (and they would probably refuse to empty it!!).

I just about manage but I do know people who do not get on well with this at all and have an ongoing battle just to get their bins emptied before they are overflowing, despite recycling as much as possible. So it really got on my wick today when a rubbish lorry pulls up at the rear of my office building and its crew of 3 decide this is a nice spot to have a 45min - 1 hour kip!!! My colleagues and I thought it was hilarious at first (got a few pics) - driver slumped over the wheel and the other two totally out for the count (must have been a tough morning), but this soon turned to discontent when we recalled all the hassles we and our neighbours have had since the fortnightly collections came in. I think it is disgraceful that these binmen (or 'logistical refuse engineers' or whatever the hell they are called these days) seemingly don't have time to collect our bins more than every 14 days and yet they do have the odd hour for a kip - unbelievable!

And just to rub it in, I get home from work tonight and drag the wheelie bin in (bin day today) and some blighter has seen fit to put a rubbish bag in my bin already! Either that or the dozy bin men were too tired to properly empty it.

This country....

Send the pictures to the council, i am sure that they would be delighted to see their hardworking staff having a good old fashioned skive off work
