The almighty 'Best in Class' Ford Fiesta
Recently some joyrider decided that he wanted to drive into the work Qashqai in the middle of the night, splendid. I the mean time I get a 2015 1.25 zetec fiesta.
Oh, they're meant to be a nice little motor, I thought. Will be fun to drive one, I thought.
Everyone gives them a great review, and they get best in class in a fair few magazines. So there I was relatively curious at having the Fiesta for a couple of weeks.
What a big steaming pile of ****.
How can SO many people choose to buy one of these? The engine/gearbox are useless at anything over 40mph. The build quality is shocking, indicator stalks feel like they're going to snap off every time you use them! Don't get me started on the lights, I thought GT lights were bad, this is a whole new level!
Comfort.. Okay I know they're a city car as such but they should deal with a motorway journey with ease. Drive to High Wycombe, couple of hours each way, and my back was in tatters afterwards. On a slight incline at 70 in 5th, with my foot to the floor the car actually started to lose speed!!!
I thought I would check the prices of these new. £14,000. Who in their right mind would spend so much money on such a horrible car.
Don't even get me started on the journalists, do they actually believe what they are writing?! They could not have been driving the same car that I am at the moment.
Best In Class? Not a chance.
I'd prefer a Suzuki Alto, at least they don't claim to be the dogs danglies.
Oh and the best bit, my average mpg considering it's mostly motorways.. 38.8.
