Alfa Dealers - Again!

Visit local Alfa stealer for a wind deflector for the Spider.

Sales Oik says "Dunno, parts dept closed"

Asked for card & phone number (Oik did not offer!) to ring them next week.

Parts Dept says "Can I call you back, can't find it on the internet?"

Parts Dept (who I like) ring to confirm still looking then call with price (198+VAT)

I ask for the cost of fitting to which parts say "Can I put you through to the service deptartment who will let you know?" Certainly!

2 mins later, very embarrassed, parts come back on the line & say "They haven't done one before so don't know how long it would take so don't know what to charge!"

Thanks Servicing dept - I am no nearer getting my wind deflector and you proved to be everything people complain about Alfa Stealers for!

If anyone knows of either

1) Cheaper deflector
2) How long they take to fit
3) Stealer/Independant who does know how to do this/can supply & fit

I would be grateful.

Looking up their own numbers on the net?

Have you noticed that when you go to these places in person you can be standing at the desk for half an hour, but as soon as the phone rings they pick it up? Often been sorely tempted to get the mobile out and call them from 2 feet away.

Re: Alfa Dealers - Again!

1. Bought mine from ebay
2. Took about an hour max
3. Did it my self (but there's a list of indies on AO that will do it for you)

Sorry youve had no joy - but stick with it - the wind deflector makes a big difference

Re: Alfa Dealers - Again!

Is it a 916 spider you have? If so, and you're near the Wales end of Shropshire, I would recommend Allitalia in Wrexham (01978 757588) for fitting

Re: Alfa Dealers - Again!

Cheers Hunter/Gary. Heard of Allitalia a few weeks back - they may be in line for the next chunk of 156 repairs!

Strange that I too have also been tempted to ring the people not serving you at the walk in desk!?!??

Re: Alfa Dealers - Again!

I went into a car factors in Skegness in the summer, it was semi open plan sort of place. The bloke was sat at a desk and seemed to be quite deliberately ignoring me..I didn't have long..busy work schedule etc, so being impatient I went and got what I wanted off the shelf..mainly because I had actually concluded that thats how you were supposed to shop there..given his studiously ignoring me etc.

He didn't half shift to put me right...and I smiled and thought..that'l teach you to ignore me you lazy bugger. A shame its not possible to do it in many car places.

Re: Alfa Dealers - Again!

I've just had my first deakings with Sidlow Alfa, Crawley.

Sales Department - excellent. Bought a Blackline.

Will let you know how I get on in the future.

Anyone else have experience of this dealership?

Regards.

Re: Alfa Dealers - Again!

I dealt the Sidlow Alfa - they offered me 2.5K less in part ex for my car than Meridian Milano in Pourtsmouth.

They did however phone me up a few weeks later to ask if I was still interested in the Spider.
