Warning My first bill with the GranSport!

Well, the equivalent of the MoT here (including tax and changing a few things like belts and battery) produced the first taste of Maserati ownership: 1,620.

Dang!

Oh well, one more reason to drive it hard next time I get it

Hopefully not the ones that stand on street corners with their faces plastered with cheap makeup and mascara.

Why? What's wrong with those?

Japan is particularly expensive for second hand cars. The big domestic producers lobbied hard to have economic disincentives to own cars for a long time.

I'd think over in Blighty, it'd be more reasonable.

Re: My first bill with the GranSport!

24k kilometres and not sure about which belts. My secretary, who's being very kind in dealing with the garage as I don't speak the lingo, mentioned belts and I didn't press further for what those were.

Most of the cost is tax (~£500)

Re: My first bill with the GranSport!

A Maser 4200 has just appeared in my work car park over the last few days. Now I don't have the most impressive car in the car park any more
(Actually I already didn't on some days. There's an Aston Martin DB2/4 in there sometimes )

Still, an acceptable brace of cars to be beaten by. Sofia still makes all the German 'prestige' marques in the place look positively ordinary by comparison

Re: My first bill with the GranSport!

We have a DB9 here in our car park with one of our 'new arrivals' and one of the actors is taking delivery of his new Maserati Quattroporte next March . One of the others has a classic car thing and regularly appears in a Triumph Stag and an old Roller. I, of course, earn peanuts . Still, Claudia gives them all a run for their money when she's just had a wash & wax!

Welcome to Tokyo! Truly it is the land of exotica and a tough place to compete with the Jones. I am a lowly university professor and even in my old uni's parking lot there were at least 10 BMWs (including two M3s) a handful of Mercedes, and even one Ferrari. Mine was the only Alfa and I was proud of that fact.

At my new uni (started in April), there are about 5 BMWs (Z4s and 5 series mostly), and to my great satisfaction, three other Alfas (though mine was the only GTA).

When I was shopping for my Alpina a few weeks ago, I went to a dealer near my house that had the following 9 cars in the showroom - an Enzo and an F40 right next to each other, three pimped out Bentleys, two Lamborginis, a DB9 and two F430 cabriolets!

Here is an interesting tidbit - in the garage of Roppongi Hills, THE place to live in Tokyo, more than 80% of the cars are.... get this...

Ferraris!!!!

80%!!!!

I don't even think Saudi parking lots could top that!

NOTE: Sorry V02Max - I thought this was a post from Bigfoot about the Tokyo parking lot where he worked!

Re: My first bill with the GranSport!

Yep, I used to live in Roppongi Hills and you could see more Ferraris than bl00dy Toyotas!

I swear!

But the GS is quite a rare beast
