Madness Flight taxes

Is it just us that gets ripped off so much with all the fees taxes and surcharges...

Just booked flights to New York, flight fare £125 each, taxes and fees £325 each

The flight out was 3x the price of the return. So is it just our APD that jacks it up so much?

You could try working your passage in the kitchens of a container ship.

I read this and thought MOAST but people have beat me to it!
And if I have the correct person, you will be moaning about the legroom and seat backs during the flight.

Don't expect any anymore

I will try not to moan about the seats this time, going with a proper airline rather than Thomson so will be better.

And yes I am saving for a house - house money is other money. Going for my birthday rather than Christmas

Nothing Italian

Not if you are on Virgin you won't. Less leg room than Thomson

If it is an American Arilines - it's not that good.
BA is better

If it is Norwegian.com - hmmm. Good airline, but it's a budget one still.

Going with Virign, BA were more expensive and I prefer Virgin. Other choices on the dates I need were Delta or United Airlines

I used to have billions of Virgin Airmiles. Not flown with them since 2008. There again I've only done one long haul since then!

You said, "try working your passage".

@Glenda

Delta are schizz, but they do operate a direct
JFK flight from here so worth it for
not going via Paris or Nodnol.

I've pretty much given up on long haul unless work are paying and I'm in the front. The whole experience is so vile that it is not worth the hassle. There is plenty that I haven't seen in Europe. Don't see the attraction of New York either. It smells, the streets are dark at any time other than midday, and decent food is hard to find. If you want to visit a city where people are rude to you and the food is good, go to Paris.
