Clarkson vs. Highways.

I know the highways mob are moaning, but days after Clarksons attack on highways I drove down the M1 and exited at J24 onto M42, traffic was at gridlock and down to one lane - Why?
Because a lorry had broke down on an adjacent slip road to the M42, was it blocking the two lane of the M42 - NO!
So why did these wally brains close a lane when the lorry was no-where near?

Clarkson is right for me.

It must be obvious to all and sundry that this present Government doesn't give a damn about anyone, least of all the poor bloody British motorist. Nearly five years ago I couldn't understand why the projected finishing dates displayed on advance warning signs of intended roadworks were always so much longer than after the start date. It was obvious to me that most of the works I examined could have been done in less than half the indicted times. I wrote to the Minister for Transport, who baldly admitted that all that matters was the cost of the project and that if if took longer to finish (generally beacuse of no work being done at weekends or public holidays ), then that was all that mattered. He finished his letter by stating that any inconvenience to the public was to be regretted, but at least then they would either have to try public transport or give up driving !
