Bloody Clarkson!

Just watched Top Gear, great show, but Clarkson has got it in for the Highways Agency, soured things for me really. He seems to think we're there to inconvenience him, the pratt.

Re: Bloody Clarkson!

I have to say, I was surprised to
see non-cop cars decked out
exactly like copcars when I
was over in the UK last week.

(Made me slow down whilst pelting down
the A419. )

Re: Bloody Clarkson!

I can see your view, but I do think it was more of a jibe than anything else... Clarkson is known for his strong views and opinions but if that was a direct stab I don't think they'd have shown it...

Re: Bloody Clarkson!

Maybe you're right, but all of this comes after we helped out his wife who broke down, so a bit ungrateful really. We have to deal with some pretty distressing incidents;and I myself was hit on the M25 earlier this year, but back at work now though and still loving it!

Re: Bloody Clarkson!

I'm sorry. Despite being a Civil Servant myself, I'm with Clarkson on this

Some lorry hits another lorry, the stupid fecker in the rear one dies and we all get delayed for a day

Some quick aerial photos, tow the carnage to the hard shoulder and some quick making good of the road surface and off we go

The road system & the way it's administered in this country really sucks

my mate has just come back from moscow where he spent 5 hours in a taxi in a traffic jam on the way to the airport. the reason? a minor shunt on a motorway sliproad. apparently the law in russia says no matter how minor the accident nobody is allowed to move their vehicle an inch until the police arrive. even if it means causing tailbacks so bad the police can't get there in the first place

Getting delayed is insignificant when someone dies.

Re: Bloody Clarkson!

Yes.. he's a tossr but he's comic with it.

I was quite embarrassed by his rant about the Lambo's fuel cap he couldn't open (made by Audi except one bit made by "useless Italians") where really I got the impression he just didn't know how to open it and couldn't understand the manaul.

But it happens too frequently. How can one massive lorry hit the rear of another. It's not as if they're hard to see

I'll tell you why - it's because they drive too close (as in a yard or so) so it's bound to happen.

And, as I've said on here before (and got slated for it), sometime after the carnage & disruption they cause, death is too good for them

Re: Bloody Clarkson!

Calm down people - the show is light entertainment and Clarkson will have a go at anything - he is paid to be 'outspoken'

The Clarkson character. Doesn't read the manual. Witness him trying to fold the seats down in the Volvo estate on the winter olympics special, or fitting a seat back to front in the self build caterham

I'm pretty sure that most people don't. I remember having posted a poll on this and the results were ermmm... as expected.

When I bought my first car, I devoured the manual that night, I was so excited about finally having a car

Since then I don't think I've read one on any other car
