Settees

Mine collapsed the other day i wouldn't mind but i'm not even a (particularly) fat [email protected] and it's only 6 years old. now i'm sat here with my arse virtually on the floor and my legs dangling in the air somewhere and that's not a pretty sight, i can assure you. so today i went out and blew a load of hard earned money on 2 sofas, because of course if one goes bump then you haver to replace both

why can't things just be made to last these days

Re: Settees

You Might not be a fat [email protected] but you're no racing snake either

If bought a decent sofa in the first place they do last

Cheapskate

Unless you and Mrs AL have been engaged in extra curricular activities on said sofa

Re: Settees

i am a particularly fat etc. and my strategy is, as with HM, to buy a decent piece of kit - preferably made of titanium

anyway - it's a sofa

it's tempting to go all feng shui and sit on the floor. my bum will be sore but my wallet will be fuller - yin and yang and all that

Re: Settees

Once known a sofa to last a fortnight. My twenty stone cousin sat down and snapped the arm off! Shop said it was wear & tear.

Re: Settees

Haven't you noticed how the sofa sheds like DFS and World of Leather offer interest free terms for about five years and the bloody things promptly fall to bits practically straight away after you've finished paying?

They must be bloody well designed so that they know exactly when to collapse - fat [email protected] or not.

Mine was just beginning to sag, being 10 years old to me & a few years to the previous older.
(& I am a fat ****er )

We got a sheet of fibreboard, cut to size & laid them under the cushions & on top of the springs & frame - all fixed, only problem is the cushions slide about on the board.

Titanium eh... are titanium cushions not a bit cold on the cheeks - you should be careful you may have inadvertently invited one of Kurzons relations into your house
