Mosquitos

Wtf is the point of Mosquitos.

What good do they do? They spread malaria at worst and at best give you annoying itchy bites.

I wouldn't mind if they want to take some blood as long as it doesn't leave such an itchy bite

They are food for the highly venomous tropical spiders, chameleons, frogs, etc. and are good for research at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Other than that not at all sure.:

Should of gone to Grand Cayman, as when myself and the missus were over there many years ago, we never even had to put the mozzie frames over the windows in the Condominium, and we never suffered not even one measley bite.

How come, salt water ponds had been dug so the mozzies thought they were ideal breeding grounds so eggs laid, larvae hatched, and were killed by the salt content.: Simples.

Poor old G123.

Just don't scratch them as if they get infected you'll need the local A&E?

Best get the Voodoo doctor out first and see what he advises? :

......errrr, yeah. Annoying, aren't they? Have you tried BBQ sauce, sounds counter intuitive but it really does work.

Nope, you can only get it from water, ice cubes or beer in the Dom Rep.

..and some wines.

...and fruit juice.

Apart from that, it's fine

Guaranteed effect but you both need to grit your teeth and forget the romance!

Raw garlic clove, finely chopped and pulverized then, swallowed down quickly.

I have a bit of milk before and after.:

It will discharge, permeate, from your pores in sweat and they don't like it.

If you both take it, you'll never notice it one to another when snoggin'

Garlic is a goodun, but bad for the ladies...

I got Dengue a few years back, everyone should try it, the shivering, aversion to getting out of bed, and the generally feeling like the brown stuff warmed up.

I agree, they really serve no purpose other than for those higher up the food chain. Everywhere else they are a PITA.

A cigarette keeps the little buggers away for a few minutes it also fends off the bigger nastier horse flies, those awful things are the work of the devil they seem more prolific this year

I've always found that if I mix my rum with coke (the brown refreshing drink rather than a locally available party powder that some people stick up their bugles) I get bitten more. I think it's the sugar content so I now just mix it with coconut water. Try that, if it doesn't work keep drinking and you won't feel anything anyway!

Of course, mosquitoes were here long before us, and are a major food mass. I suspect their extinction might have a significant adverse affect on our ecosystem.

So, keep biting Greener.

Well now, little mosquito, come bite me on the hand now
And explain it to me so I can understand.
Well, okay, well all right, sir
You see, I have my reason, sure as I have my season, well
I'm nature's mosquito.
Bite-wite-bitie-witie-wite-sir
