It's "weird" (not "wierd")

Subject line says it all.

It just irritates me. If I could learn this when I was 11 years old, why do so many people struggle to get this right?

Actually, we were taught: "i" before "e", except after "c", when the sound is "eye".

English spelling is so bizarre, isn't it? You can only learn these things by familiarity.

Re: It's "weird" (not "wierd")

And stop using of instead of have

eg it's 'I should have listened when I was at school'

and not 'I should of listened when in borstal'

It's not difficult and you know who you are
