AROC membership fee

I apologise if I'm treading on toes.

I was searching for a fix for my left stalk menu button (the suggestions here seem fine, but i wanted a 2nd opinion, as i believe its ecu, rather than failure of a component - it stopped working when one of my headlights blew)

So I googled AROC forum.

They want 40-50 quid just so that i can view their forum?

Why the heck would I pay that much if I dont know if they can help or not?

It smacks of elitism - I'm both sad and angry that genuine Alfa lovers are excluded from a forum because of the fee.

If there are any AROC members here , I'd love to hear why it is so exclusive.

Office Chair.

I guess the forum is for AROC members only? Surely they're entitled keep it to members only?
Though in my experience the paid only forums tend to, in most cases be quite **** anyway. Simply as they are limiting the number of people that can use it.

Places like this are much better for tech help and good banter. The Ferrari Owners Club and Ferrari Owners (based in Italy) dropped the forums (I think) for that very reason.

My pal is in the MMA (Mopar) and the forum is paid up members only though a good few topics are read only to the general public. That seems to work quite well, of course but you can't ask a question without being a member.

I'm not going anywhere, I'm just going.
Statements above are all my own opinion and not fact.

1) Aye, I can understand that, but I'm still slightly perplexed by the fact that they expect someone to cough up 50 for something that they can't at least preview.

2) You're more than likely very correct. I'm never short of an entertaining read on here

It does not cost 50 to see the Forum. The Forum is just one of the things you get for your membership. If you read Simons post on the other thread you will see some of the things you get.

Think of the forum like a clubhouse. For some clubs you need to be a member to enter, other clubs are less fussy & allow anybody in.

AROC forum is usually very quiet.
AO has been brilliant for tech queries IME
Keeping things positive, AROC do produce a very professional club magazine every 2 months and ive saved a bundle with their members insurance scheme
