Yep! Almost time to fold those soft-tops, fit that hard-top, sort the underside washing gear against salt and corrosion once more. At least there shouldn't be a hosepipe ban forthcoming?:

Just back from the Emerald Isle - a flipping wash out there too - the weather was lovely the day we were coming back though

A winter of lots of colds and flu ahead

It's the worst I can remember. I feel robbed. I can only think of two days of sunshine – apart from the amazing weather we had in April.

Re: British Summer!

I've never known a summer like this. What 2 weeks of scorching sun in April then 2 or 3 days in June?

Who knows, maybe we'll have a heat wave over xmas!

Re: British Summer!

Actually, I think we had a good summer up to August last year - it then begun to rain, and it hasn't stopped apart from this 2 weeks in April

You're right. The surrounding land is hilly, I think that makes it rain more there. It's official, Royston is a damp squib!
I know you're only joking, but Global Warming doesn't mean higher temps for all, just f*cked up Global weather systems. It could get very nasty over the next 40 years or so.

Re: British Summer!

BTW Nomes, if you're out and about and feeling peckish near Royston, try the Silver Ball, just to the south, on the A10. A cafe from a bygone age, for bikers, truckers, bikies, passing Police etc. Big steaming mugs of tea and fry-ups. Not quite what it used to be though, with enormous home made cakes and scones, served by an old Doris in an apron. More East European now .

Re: British Summer!

And they try and convince us that global warming is to blame. You can bet the bank holiday will be cold and wet too.

I hate this climate!!!

Re: British Summer!

The more I hear people carping on
about C02 & climate change, the less
I'm convinced by it all.

Some "protester" on the radio this morning
going on about Heathrow.
I think Heathrow is a terrible aeroport. badly placed,
bad infrastructure, bad transport links. But
when you here some benefit claimant saying no
one should fly... makes me less inclined
to support them.

I also read recently that it would be better for the environment
to plant new forests instead of planting crops for biofuel.
That'd be kinda cool: new forests!
