Oooh oooh I know this one....

Is it that the "Optional Equipment" list on each of them includes mirrors & indicators (but no-one ticks the box), but excludes a handsfree?

I'm surprised anyone was moving at all! Years ago I used to commute Uddingston to Livingston and always found it quicker if I stuck to the inside lane. Good to hear that nothing has changed!!

BTW: Does this mean that VW should be scrubbed from the list of replacements for the other halfs A3? I was thinking of convincing her she needed an R32!!

I use the overtaking lane. You know.. the one furthest on the left. It's always empty.

That was my conclusion as well. Although, to be fair to Beemers, lately I've even had an M5 pull in to let me pass. My reaction to that was

Re: VW Lane huggers

Never had trouble with the Bimmers and VeeDubbs, they keep a decent pace along the motorays. At least if you flash them, soemtimes, up to 50% of them notice and pull over.

My big rant is the girls with Ford Ka's stuffed with pink fluffy steering wheel covers and playboy stickers refusing to do more than 60 and too scared to look anywhere else but dead-centre or ever move out of the middle lane.

The M4 had an attack of the Kas this morning. Like a swarm of very slow bees

Re: VW Lane huggers

I know the feeling, neither of them was traveling at anything near 70. And, as I mentioned above, the Polo was only a 1.2, it was probably going flat out trying to keep up with it's big brother
Both seemed completely oblivious to all the cars that undertook them only to pull out in front. WTF is it with people like that

Yet the police and the government lay almost all bad driving claims at people breaking the speed limit!

Re: VW Lane huggers

I ve considered writing a big sign to put in the back window (to tell them to pull over to the left). Is that legal?

Re: VW Lane huggers

Can't see why it wouldn't be legal - you can get those flashing LED banners you can write what you want on them from Maplin.

I tend to cut across the front of their bonnets from the outside to the inside lane indicating and pointing to the left. Some of them get the message, some of them don't.

Or as Ralf S does, undertake them, with a raised WTF hand.

But then you're infront of them and it's less of an issue (well, for you at least ). I wonder if waving a blue flag would work You know the sort of thing. If you wave it three times they have to leave the motorway all together and pull in to the nearest petrol station for 10 seconds

Ah.. that's a different kettle of fish altogether. Totty in Ka's is supposed to go slow so we can perve them. Middle lane maximises exposure and means you can go into the inside lane, slow down, let them pass and overtake them again, as many times as it takes to get your jollies.

I can't stand Passat drivers. Most of them drive like idiots

Usually whilst gripping the steering wheel for dear life with both hands, and sitting with their noses pressed against the windscreen.

You are talking about the M8! I could keep up with trafiic in both lanes pushing a wheelbarrow most of the time.

Not on the M8...well hardly ever.

So traffic was actually moving at a reasonable pace for a change?

Re: VW Lane huggers

I purposely remembered all the cars I undertook last night on the way home along the M4 and surprisingly enough, there were no VW's:

1 Merc Estate
2 Focuses
1 Transit
1 Horse waggon

Can I suggest that everyone gets one of these stickers?

Maybe it's a Jock thing
For me it's either VWs or Toyota (Obviousley they can only use their 'Car in front' gag if they don't let people past ).
