Lying B*stards...don't you love them

My father & mother in law run their fishing supplies business from a quaint oast on a farm in Kent. Its down a quarter mile paved narrow farm lane.

On Monday they were driving down it and stopped as there was a large recovery wagon with a building supplies lorry on it that began reversing towards them coming from the farm. They tooted, and tried to reverse, but the recovery wagon driver either had not seen or looked and my 75 year old father in law could not get away fast enough going backwards.

Result.. The rear of the wagon smashes into front of his S reg Mazda Xedos 6 doing a lot of damage.

The Driver leaps out and says immediately "You just drove into the back of me!!"

Luckily there are two witnesses who saw the whole thing and are prepared to say otherwise..

Interestingly even though its S reg, and has over 80,000 on the clock, and the estimated repair cost is about £3,500. The insurers have opted to repair rather than write off. Father in law has had it from new and really likes it, so he's happy as long as its fixed properly.

Bloody cheek though!

They ren't the Knights of the Road any more are they?

I hope they fix it up right. My first brand new car was a Xedos 6. Sweet little V6, super quiet and comfy. It was that or the dark side (a 3 series at the time and I just couldn't!)

I read this earlier and was stumped for a reply.: How about sticking them up the sharp end as gun fodder!

Re: Lying B*stards...don't you love them

My Mum was in an accident where she was waiting to turn right on a main road and some bloke crashed into the back of her. He claimed she wasn't indicating, but the policeman said that he was able to tell she was from a sooty deposit on the inside of the bulb which meant that it was lit when it was crashed into.

I would have thought that the reverse lights of his lorry would be the same, showing that he had been reversing.
