To be honest mate you should never jet wash a car anyway, the amount of post's I've seen on this forum and other forum's about Jet Wash Woes.

I just wash the car with a bucket and sponge and then rinse off. At least when you do it that way you know that A) You aint blasting the car away and that B) Youre doing it yourself.

Can you go back to whoever did it and have a go? Probably won't do much good though as hand car wash people don't usually have a money back gauarantee, lol

Good luck anyway mate and hope you get it sorted soon.

Unfortunately jet washing uncovers any weakness in your car's bodywork amour It's even worse on wheels; its tempting to use the jet wash to get rid of brake dust, but before you know it, it's flaking away your paint

I might start up a 'DO NOT USE JET WASHERS ON ITALIAN CAR'S' thread, just to spread the word even more...

Jet washes are the Devil's lance....never use them on a car! They'll seek out any imperfection in the paint and expand it immediately!

Re: Hig pressure jet wash = no enamel onmy cloverleaf badge :(

I remember once at work when hydraulic fuel sprayed on everyones car's when a cranes pipe snapped. We all went next door to quickly get it off and all they had was a high power jet wash, I used it but stood very far away from my Mondeo when washing it down. (This was a few years back)

What people then did surprised me: They used a broom (Yes, a broom) to clean their car's with at the same time. Not a car wash broom, but an actual sharp jaggedy bristled cleaning broom!

One of the blokes said 'Here, use this!' holding up the broom. I declined his offer and drove back to my parking space, lol

This was my Mondeo as well, some people had £20,000 motors they were scraping that sh1tty old broom on! lol

It amazes me what some people will do.

I don't even use car washes I am that scared of something happening to my car, lol

Cheers,
Darren

Side issue here-I've just bought two cloverleaf badges off e-bay for my 156,and want to attach them to the sideskirts where they are on 145 cloverleaf.Anyone any experience of these? Will the adhesive already on the badges be secure enough or should I use something stronger? (looks like double sided tape to me) I dont want to loose the badges soon after fitting them. Thanks

They are OK as long as you only use the fan spray. I blaster the paint off an Orion I had once when using a needle jet to get rid of fly squash

Yeah.. Squadrone has it susssed. You have to use the fan spray, or stand further back, or use it at an angle to the surface.

Fella I know cleared the bird lime off his brand new MR2 with a credit card. It used to leave little gouge marks in the paint where he scraped it.. but he didn't seem to give a hoot about it.

I find people like that weird. Like the wall buffer people who keep driving into a parking space until their car bounces them off the wall in front a few inches, then they pull up the hand brake.

Odd people about.
