Bloody expedia.

We've got a holiday booked on Komandoo in the Maldives in September. Really looking forward to it, booked it last year.
For some reason I was looking through the booking confirmation in my emails the other day, and noticed that there was no details of us being all-inclusive, although I'm sure we were. I emailed expedia to just confirm it, and they;ve got back today to say we're only B&B
It doesn't say anything at all on the confirmation email (which is all they send out) so despite the fact that I'm sure they said otherwise at the time, I don't think I have a leg to stand on, no proof either way.
Emailed them to ask about an upgrade and they just said we'll be able to upgrade when we reach the hotel, but no indication of the cost.
So I'm now waiting for a reply from the hotel. I hope it's not ridiculously expensive
Bloody holiday already cost a sodding fortune.

Re: Bloody expedia.

Not good

But the Maldives is a lovely place

Although you have to get used to 'tipping' lots

...and also hope you don't get on an Island with to many[*]erman tourists as you'll never get any of the beach chairs

Get your rant on ...

and be sure to mention Watchdog, Trading Standards and a close to dangerous love of weapons.

What does their site say if you search for the same deal in the future?

Re: Bloody expedia.

That's the thing, everything you check now on expedia says continental breakfast, every other operator offers all inclusive.
I'm less sure now that it's their mistake rather than ours, it was months ago, maybe I've forgotten.
The reason I was sure was that we compared 4 or 5 operators, and were looking for all inclusive, surely I'd have noticed this one was not offering that?
But then again, maybe I just got blase and didn't check?
Either way, I can prove nothing, so I think I'll have to suck it up. They were at least £500 cheaper than the next best supplier, so surely the upgrade won't cost that much?

Oh, and I don't think I need to worry about ze Germans, they'd have to swim out to our private sundeck on the water villa in order to steal our deckchairs (hence the costing a sodding fortune)
This is a real 'spoiling ourselves for the last (and probably first for that matter) time before children' thing. Not that that means children are coming all that soon, but we just decided, while we still can, to hang the cost (to an extent at least) and get ourselves a dream holiday.

Re: Bloody expedia.

Bazza, I'm a glass half full kinda guy, what you gotta do is just eat shed loads of breakfast in the morning to keep you going for the rest of the day. Also, instead of tipping anyone, keep it and save it for booze instead.

Job done! lol

It's a shame they've duped you though, bloody travel agents!

Have a nice holiday anyway bud,
Darren.

Re: Bloody expedia.

Bazza it's easy, big tip & a Man Utd shirt for the head honcho at the hotel and I think you'll wake one morning and miraculously find you have become the owner of the elusive "all inclusive" wristband...

If you take him TWO Man Utd shirts you'll only get B&B

Re: Bloody expedia.

Very good Al
Actually, I have heard on a couple of forums that they love footie shirts over there, so maybe not a bad idea. I'm already worrying about how exactly you tip tactfully though, how the hell do I pass a shirt over without saying "hey, here's a bribe for you".
I happen to know the chief barman is a Chelsea fan, so he ain't getting a shirt!

And you're all right, I really shouldn't be moaning - it's an absolute dream holiday. Just needed to get the sudden annoyance out of my system.

Re: Bloody expedia.

Bazza, you will have a great holiday regardless of this, we went to Kuramathi a couple of years ago for similar reasons to yours, it's a amazing place, we loved every minute of it,
