Amazon, they're really good...

... apart from Amazon.fr who are a bunch
of ****ing [email protected]

I've had a parcel go missing.
It's not the first time. They can be right thieving
[email protected] around here. (Yes Postie, I'm watching you! )

If it was amazon .com, .de or .co.uk they'd just say,
"oops, sorry about that." and ship another parcel.

amazon.fr? ooohh nooo!

"We looked on the 'La Poste' website and it says it's been
delivered, so **** you."

Amazing how they are good everywhere except here.

WHAT HE SAID.

in fairness I've only lived in this street for a couple of months but in that time I've had more stuff delivered by well-meaning but slightly confused neighbours than by Royal Mail's finest.

Maybe it's some kind of get to know your new neighbours ice-breaker...

Re: Amazon, they're really good...

Well, I got some satisfaction:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Amazon.fr.

The order was dispatched on 11th may 2007 and you should have
already received it.

We have therefore created a replacement order
for the same items, to be sent to the following address:

We will post it to you as soon as possible at no additional charge.

You can view the estimated ship date for your replacement order on
Your Account at the following address:

If the original package should arrive after the replacement order
has been shipped, you can return one of the packages to us. You can
view our returns address and policy at the following link:

www.amazon.fr/in-english

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank
you for choosing Amazon.fr.
Obviously my (amateur's) mistake was sending the email
the 1st time in French.

Re: Amazon, they're really good...

Ordered some old car flieks from amazon canada in Feb, still waiting. On the other hand I did take the cheapest mailing.
The other day when I contacted them, I was told the arrival time to me was 8 June so will have to see if it get here this week.

Ordered a Alfa jacket on ebay on the Thursday from Taiwan, was in SA the next Monday, that was fast.

At least you got a result, Nev.

I sent a Eurocheque to Italy last year - never arrived,

Sent a pair of Gucci specs to Italy 4 weeks ago: guess what....

Should know better, Mum sent a canteen of cutlery over in the late
'60s; Oh it arrived alright, it's just that when we opened the box there was feckall in it!

I hate to rain on your parade, but I'd completely shocked if Canada Post managed to ever deliver your parcel to you.

I can't say anything about Amazon.ca (I haven't used it) but I have a seemingly endless list of bad Canada Post experiences, including lost international mailings between myself and other AOers. Those are especially frustrating as trying to get anybody at the post office to even acknowledge the concept of international delivery is like repeatedly smacking your head against a cement wall.

Re: Amazon, they're really good...

I found Amazon to be great, the postie delivered an MP3 player to the wrong address and I only found it after snooping around peoples doors. Amazon apologised and gave me £5 to say sorry and told me if anything gets lost in the post they'll send a replacement straight out. Next time it happens I'm keeping the parcel and claiming it never arrived for a replacement.

On the ebay note - My rear light was scuffed when I bought the car and I just picked up a new light assembly for 99p! Bargain!

Amazon are good for 2nd hand books too - I bought a 1970 copy of The Dashboard Revolution the other day - a book all about (Smith) car instruments
