Internet Gestapo Police

After about a million hits to AO... mostly from me the Works Internet Gestapo has blocked the site!

I can't connect whenever I want any more...

What's all that about? Do they think I come to work to do graft?

Luckily, I managed to bribe a techie with some Crispy Creme do'nuts.. he's run me a telephone cable to a shared port with the fax machine!

It's a bit slow... but I can at least now get my fix.. and I can also look at photobucket links etc. that were unavailable before.

Re: Internet Gestapo Police

Surely if Nomad gets a pay raise for posting on here all the time its only fair that the rest of us can at least access the site

More of it

BF has the same problem

Universites are great - they can't block my access but can monitor what I am looking at.

Re: Internet Gestapo Police

I can live with monitoring... AO isn't too shady a dark secret, even though it's not work related... but obviously the WIGs noticed what site was getting the most hits and blocked it!

Oh well.. the 56k dial-up is not tooooo bad.

Just tell them you need a direct internet
connection so that visiting clients
can use their VPN to pick up their email.

At the halls of residence I used to live in at Cov Uni, if you where looking at porn, the IT bods would print off a list of the sites you've visited, and pin it to your door.

Apparently they've stopped now, the paper bill was enourmous.

Handy if you weren't very good at locating such sites yourself
